Hello! I’m Shania, a creative strategist and writer, focused on crafting meaningful experiences. With my multidisciplinary background blending together design, writing and strategy, this is my unique formula to powerful storytelling and re-imagining the mundane of the everyday.
With 2+ years of professional industry and freelancing experience (in copywriting, graphic design and art direction), my portfolio showcases rich fusions of industry collaborations, university work and personal passion projects. I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients such as Creative Lives in Progress, Remitly X Mellor&Smith, The Migration Museum, Louis Jadot all the way to individual entrepreneurs. All showcase my proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, concept development, experimental typography, editorial design, brand identity, printmaking, bookbinding, and experience design.
There's always organising and always overthinking for me as I approach any project. Mostly starting from daily scribbles in a journal, every project considered within my practice begins with understanding and deconstructing universal human experiences. My passion projects range from reflective interactive publications to sculptures that transform everyday objects (de-familiarisation).
Sometimes it resonates, sometimes we empathise. It is this, and the integration of storytelling, where I intend for my design to cultivate emotional connections, encouraging my audience to mindfully engage with their unique everyday experiences, environments and memories. My practice also embraces the fostering of (cultural), particularly preserving Filipino identity and diasporic narratives.
